2024 JIKS Primary Presents: My Dream
The Jakarta Indonesia Korean School proudly hosted the inspirational and creative event, "My Dream," on January 3rd, 2024, focusing on the aspirations and ambitions of our students. This event was a unique opportunity for fifth and sixth graders to explore and share their dream careers through artistic and interactive methods.
The core activity of "My Dream" involved students from both grades designing imaginative and expressive posters that encapsulated their future aspirations. These posters were not just mere presentations but windows into the imaginative minds of our young learners, showcasing careers ranging from astronauts to artists, engineers to educators.
On the day of the event, the sixth graders were the first to set up their booths. Each booth was a personalized exhibit of their dream job, complete with detailed posters and creative displays. The fourth and fifth graders eagerly attended these booths, engaging in thoughtful discussions and gaining insights into various career paths. This peer-to-peer interaction was not only educational but also served to strengthen the bonds within our student community.
Later in the day, the fifth graders presented their booths to the sixth graders. This role reversal was a key feature of the event, emphasizing the importance of sharing and learning from each other, regardless of age or grade. The sixth graders listened intently, offering encouragement and feedback, which was a testament to the supportive environment fostered at our school.
The event was more than just an academic exercise; It was a celebration of the dreams and aspirations of our students. It provided a platform for them to articulate their future goals and learn about the diverse interests and ambitions of their peers. The faculty and staff of Jakarta Indonesia Korean School were incredibly proud of the creativity, effort, and enthusiasm displayed by all participants.
“My Dream” was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on both students and educators. It highlighted the importance of fostering a supportive community where students feel empowered to dream big and work towards their aspirations. We look forward to making this an annual event, continually inspiring our students to reach for the stars.
